Discerning the Times

A series of articles gets the blood flowing for me in regard to the pace that prophetic events seem to be moving in:

1. NATO watches Syria smuggle weapons to Hezbollah

This is one that has been ongoing for a while as Hezbollah rearms itself right in front of the world. NATO submarines have been watching the Syrian coastline and searching for ships suspected of smuggling arms to Hezbollah. Watching and stopping it are obviously two different things even with a UN resolution to do so.

The British newspaper The Times claims to have access to satellite images showing a Hezbollah complex near the Syrian town of Adra, northwest of Damascus. The images were of trucks and weapons being transferred.

The UN has a resolution in place it can not enforce and weapons like the Syrian M-300 are now in Hezbollah’s hands. More than watching needs to be done here or Israel will act to protect herself and rightly so.

2. Next Hezbollah war may be over Israel’s Gas and Oil Fields

Funny now that all the development and research money has been spent and gas and oil have been located in the Mediterranean coast that Hezbollah is trying to lay claim to the recent discovery of a large oil and gas field in Israel along the northeastern coast.

Hezbollah warned that it will not allow Israel to take possession of the offshore fields which would make Israel self-sufficient for the first time in history.

This could be the trigger point for war this summer.

3. Jordan seeking nuclear power

This one takes the cake. King Abdullah is telling the Wall Street Journal that Israel has been pressuring countries such as South Korea and France not to sell Jordan nuclear technologies. According to the story Jordan is 95% dependent on foreign oil. This one is interesting also. We will keep watch on this story.

4. Egyptian Offical says Obama is a Muslim

Now this one is interesting in light of the fact that the President has been doing some strange things lately in regard to faith issues and statements. Egypt’s foreign minister, Gheit, says that President Obama told him in confidence that he is in fact a practicing Muslim. If this is true it helps to explain alot of the things that Obama has done that are questionable.

Some of the more bizarre events are:

1. Obama claimed to be a Muslim in an interview on television. His misstatement was later corrected by the reporter not Obama.

2. He has referenced America’s Muslim history several times.

3. Obama’s dramatic shift of American Israeli policy to a more pro-Arab, pro-Muslim approach.

4. This recent story from Egypt.

5. The birth certificate gate.

There has been no statement from the White House concerning this latest story. Some how I feel like we were deceived once more. Discernment for God’s people is what is needed.

All these stories show us that the time of the end of this age is fast drawing near.
