We need to be praying for our brothers and sisters around the world who are facing persecution in their very lives today. For example just yesterday three separate articles got my attention on the subject of persecution in the church.
The first article describes how Saudi security forces raided a Christian prayer meeting in Jeddah and arrested 42 Christians. The key is that the believers were not just arrested but were beaten and threatened with death. Their location is also unknown at this time.
The second article concerned the country of Nigeria. Islamist fundamentalists posted pamphlets threatening to bomb churches. This happened in the city of Jos. Last year on Christmas Eve in Jos multiple bomb attacks on Christian churches occurred.
The last article is concerning Muslims driving out Christians from Gaza and the West Bank in large numbers. Christians have been victims of intimidation, beatings, fire bombings and even kidnapping.
We need to be lifting up in praying without ceasing for the Church as a whole as we go through persecution . We need to stand firm in the face of it and not deny our Lord.
We will see persecution increasing before the Lord’s return.
Keep looking up!
