Have explorers in Ecuador found ‘Lost City of Giants’?

Last year, a team of explorers and researchers discovered what they believed to be an ancient pyramid complex in a remote area of the Ecuador Amazonian jungle, one not known to the general public internationally or even within the country.  Bruce Fenton, author and researcher, has completed an analysis of the findings, and believes the complex may be the ‘Lost City of the Giants’.

At the discovered site there is one extremely large pyramidal type structure of approximately 80 metres square base and 80 metres height, with steeply inclined walls. This structure is made up of irregular shaped large cut stone blocks, each currently calculated to be approximately 2 tonnes in weight; many hundreds of such blocks make up the walls of the building.

The top appears to be a flat area suspected to have been a platform used by priests in either ceremonies or possibly sacrifices. Scattered around the area are a great many artefacts of stone and pottery. Many of these objects appear to be stone tools that could have been used either in mining or refining some kind of metal ore. The style of the buildings and the objects found all suggest an unknown pre-Inca culture. However, further investigation is needed to establish the facts, which Fenton and a team plan to conduct in the near future.

Amongst these tools are some that would be extremely difficult for a normal size human being to use in any practical fashion, which has led Fenton to suspect that this is one of the legendary lost cities of the giants, well known in local Ecuadorian legends about the Amazonian area.  Such places generate great fear among the members of today’s jungle tribes as they are believed to be protected either by spirit guardians or by beings not of this world.

Local legends pertain to giant humans who lived in cities that have become forgotten in the pages of history. In fact bones of giant people have been found in caves in the area – as well as in other parts of Ecuador. This particular region was said to be a great meeting place of the tribes, in fact tribes from as far away as Brazil travelled to this location due to beliefs about its long standing importance and strong energetic vibration.

The team has so far identified several large hills near to the validated pyramid structure, each of them equal size to the supposed pyramid. It is possible that each of these hills is a pyramid yet to be uncovered. This would make for a very significant sized city and pyramid complex.

An international team of experts of ancient megalithic sites and pyramid technologies are planning further expeditions to the site to place it accurately on a map and to produce a one hour documentary to record the amazing features of this intriguing site.

AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH …

Exclusive: Joseph Farah examines historical beginnings of abominable practice

Published: 19 hours ago

I think I might have been wrong about same-sex marriage.

When I have written about this phenomenon and discussed it and debated it in recent years, I have stated unequivocally that it is something new – not seen anywhere or at any time in the history of humankind.

But now I have reason to doubt that.

There may indeed have been a time in man’s history when it was practiced.

It wasn’t in ancient Greece.

It wasn’t in Sodom and Gomorrah.

It wasn’t in Rome.

It wasn’t in Babylon.

But it may have been routine in the days of Noah, just before the flood.

I am hardly a student of the Talmud, part of the oral tradition of Orthodox Judaism. I don’t believe it is the inspired word of God. But it is, nonetheless, a historical record. According to two notable experts, the Babylonian Talmud says that same-sex marriage was prevalent just before the Great Flood of Noah.

Jeffrey Satinover, who holds an MD from Princeton and doctorates from Yale, MIT and Harvard, has made the point that the Midrash Rabbah Genesis suggests such activity represented the last straw before God unleashed the floodwaters to destroy the Earth. He is backed up by Rabbi Aryeh Spero of New York.

But it’s not just conservative scholars and rabbis who see that message in the Talmud. Indeed, a feminist academic from Brandeis University, Gail Labovitz, senior research analyst for the Feminist Sexual Ethics Project, dealt with this issue in a recent paper.

Not only did men marry men and women marry women in the days of Noah, but they wrote marriage contracts for those relationships, just as the world is doing today.

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the rabbis were right.

Could this have been what Jesus was referring to in Matthew 24:37-39, when He said: “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took all of them away; so shall the coming of the Son of man be.”

If that’s what Jesus had in mind, it doesn’t bode well for nations practicing this abomination today. But, as He suggests, it may very well be another sign that He is “at the door.”

I know. I know. You don’t believe Jesus is the Son of God – the Savior of the world, the Messiah. You don’t believe the Bible is God’s inspired word. You don’t believe a flood actually destroyed the world more than 4,000 years ago.

It really doesn’t matter what you believe about those things. It only matters what God believes. It only matters what is true. Opinions don’t count when it comes to God’s rules. Only obedience and repentance matter.

People deny the reality of God and sin usually because they don’t want to be accountable for their behavior. Sin is pleasurable for a season, and that’s all that matters to some people. So they reject God and pretend He doesn’t exist, as if that gives them a license to break His rules.

Some people reject God because they think He’s mean to judge them.

But God gives us all the desires of their hearts. That’s true for those who embrace Him just as it is true of those who don’t. Those who make Him the Lord of their lives get to spend eternity with Him. Those who don’t are eternally separated from Him. In other words, they, too, get their wish.

When I’m wrong I admit it. And it appears I was wrong when I stated repeatedly there is no historical precedent for same-sex marriage. But the one I have found is not exactly reassuring. The last time it happened, God destroyed the world.

I should have known better, because Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 1:9: “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.”

Billy Graham sounds alarm for 2nd Coming

Famed evangelist sees signs ‘converging now for the 1st time’

By Troy Anderson

Just as Noah did in ancient times, world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham is sounding the alarm that the Second Coming is “near” and signs of the end of the age are “converging now for the first time since Jesus made those predictions.”

Earlier this month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the United Nations General Assembly “biblical prophecies are being realized.”

And last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., claimed the world has entered the last days.

“When you see up is down and right is wrong, when this is happening, we were told this: that these days would be as the days of Noah,” Bachmann said.

The remarks by Graham, Netanyahu and Bachmann come amid a steadily rising wave of public interest in the end times, as demonstrated by recent polls and New York Times and Amazon.com bestselling books such as “The Harbinger: The Ancient Mystery That Holds the Secret of America’s Future,” by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, and “Four Blood Moons: Something is About to Change,” by Pastor John Hagee.

In September, a poll by the Ventura, Calif.-based Barna Group found 4 in 10 Americans – and 77 percent of evangelical Christians – believe the “world is now living in the biblical end times.”

Now, a new wave of end-times predictions for 2014 and 2015 involving blood moons on Jewish holy days and prophetically significant events on the Shemitah – the ancient biblical year of the Sabbath – are igniting even more interest in humanity’s ultimate fate.

Throw in next year’s reboot of the “Left Behind” film featuring Nicolas Cage and the cinematic destruction of biblical proportions in “Noah,” starring Russell Crowe, and last-days fever is back with a mainstream vengeance.

Jonathan Cahn’s “The Harbinger” reveals an astonishing prophetic mystery unfolding today

“I think we’re on the verge of a global awakening in interest in apocalyptic events,” said Paul McGuire, an internationally recognized prophecy expert who is a regular commentator on Fox News and CNN and appeared on two highly rated History Channel specials, including “7 Signs of the Apocalypse.”

“I see a fuse being lit here, between what Billy Graham, Michele Bachman and Benjamin Netanyahu said, and I think there is going to be an explosion of interest in the end times like nothing we’ve ever seen before,” McGuire said.

Watching the signs

In an exclusive email interview with WND, Graham, 94, who is giving what may be his last message to the world as part of the My Hope America with Billy Graham evangelistic outreach in early November, said the world is “coming toward the end of the age.”

“There’s a great deal to say in the Bible about the signs we’re to watch for and when these signs all converge at one place we can be sure that we’re close to the end of the age,” Graham wrote. “And those signs, in my judgment, are converging now for the first time since Jesus made those predictions.”

In his new book, “The Reason for My Hope: Salvation,” the famed preacher who has delivered the gospel message to more people face-to-face than anyone in history wrote the great hope of the Christian faith rests in the promised return of Christ.

Graham said he now has a burden for “sounding the alarm for humanity to repent and turn from their sin … just as Noah did in ancient days.”

“God keeps his promises, and this is why we can be sure that the return of Christ is near,” Graham said. “Scripture tells us that there will be signs pointing toward the return of the Lord. I believe all these signs are evident today.”

The evangelistic outreach and book come as a number of major evangelists – Graham, his son Franklin Graham, Reinhard Bonnke, Greg Laurie, Luis Palau, Banning Liebscher and others – are turning their attention toward America in the hope of helping ignite what Graham calls an end-times “great spiritual awakening.”

In what the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association describes as the largest outreach in its six-decade history, Graham will give a dynamic and poignant pre-recorded message the week of Nov. 7, his 95th birthday. The My Hope programs will be available for viewing online and on YouTube. The Cross, the primary program in the My Hope series, will be broadcast on the Fox News channel, TBN, Christian networks and local television stations in a number of cities.

The event follows an open letter Graham released in the summer of 2012 titled “My Heart Aches for America.”

In the letter, Graham wondered what his late wife, Ruth, would think of a nation in which “self-centered indulgence, pride and a lack of shame over sin are now emblems of the American lifestyle.”

Graham compared America to the ancient city of Nineveh, the lone superpower of its time. When the prophet Jonah finally traveled to Nineveh and proclaimed God’s warning, the people repented and escaped judgment, Graham wrote, adding he believes the same thing could happen today.

Acceleration

The end-times warnings by Graham, Netanyahu, Bachmann and others come amid a series of events in recent years that have prompted many to ask whether the countdown to Armageddon has begun.

The events include the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Hurricane Katrina, the global recession and more recently what some view as an increase in purported end-times signs, including super-earthquakes, mega-tsunamis and gargantuan storms and tornadoes.

“We’re looking at things like the possibility of another global economic meltdown,” said McGuire, an author of 22 prophecy books, including “The Day the Dollar Died” and the upcoming “A Prophecy of the Future of America.”

“Consider the earthquake warnings, the potential volcanic eruption of Yellowstone, the Japanese tsunamis and the radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster traveling across the ocean and contaminating the food supply here on the West Coast, along with massive tornadoes the size of which we’ve never seen in human history,” he said.

McGuire said government and scientific experts are also expressing concerns about the potential of a massive West Coast tsunami, increased solar flare activity and severe climate change.

“The dramatic and unprecedented planetary climate change is something on the level of the apocalyptic predictions of the Bible,” McGuire said. “We’re on the verge right now, because of climate change, of massive food and water shortages, which could affect tens of millions of people worldwide because of the droughts that have occurred. The intense heat and water shortages have dried up the crops, and we are going to see that play out in the near future because of all the freak weather.”

Blood moons

Against this apocalyptic backdrop, prominent faith leaders such as Graham, Greg Laurie, Cahn and John Hagee say they are witnessing an unparalleled acceleration in last-days signs that suggest the Second Coming is fast approaching.

Hagee, pastor of Cornerstone Church and author of the newly-released book “Four Blood Moons,” told his 22,000-member congregation recently that the appearance of four blood moons on Jewish holy days between April 2014 and October 2015 points to a “world-shaking event” that could signify the beginning of events leading up to the seven-year Great Tribulation.

God is using the heavens to announce things to come, says Pastor John Hagee.

“I believe that the heavens are God’s billboard – that he has been sending signals to planet Earth and we just haven’t been picking them up,” Hagee told his San Antonio, Texas, congregation. “Today, with the help of God’s word and some very astute scientists, I’m going to walk you through 500 years (of four blood moons on Jewish feast days) and show you how God is literally screaming at the world: ‘I am coming soon.’”

The phenomenon, a rare combination of lunar and solar eclipses, has only occurred a few times in the last 500 years – 1492, 1948 and 1967. It will happen again in 2014-15.

The previous dates correspond with the Jews’ expulsion from Spain and Christopher Columbus’ discovery of America (a sanctuary for the Jewish people), the creation of Israel, the Six-Day War and what Hagee and other Bible prophecy scholars believe could be the Middle East “War of Gog and Magog” predicted by the prophet Ezekiel 2,700 years ago. This war, according to Bible prophecy scholars, involves an attack on Israel by a coalition of nations led by Russia and Iran.

“The Bible speaks of signs in the heavens that have been discovered and recorded by NASA that you yourself can find on Google on the Internet,” Hagee told his church. “The coming four blood moons point to a world-shaking event that will happen between April 2014 and October 2015. What does it mean? What is the prophetic significance? Is this the end of the age?”

Likewise, Cahn, author of “The Harbinger,” which has remained on the New York Times bestseller list since its release in January 2012, says his book highlights a pattern of escalating judgments at seven-year intervals on the Shemitah that may point to another major prophetic event between September 2014 and September 2015.

Cahn’s book, based on a real-life prophetic mystery he discovered in Isaiah 9, frames a biblical warning of national judgment in a narrative as a journalist encounters a mysterious figure, “The Prophet,” who claims the same nine harbingers of divine judgment that preceded the destruction of Israel 2,700 years ago are now manifesting in America.

The book, and its newly released nonfiction version, “The Harbinger Companion,” notes that the greatest stock market crashes in American history occurred seven years apart. The first was shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the next on Sept. 29, 2008, amid a global economic panic.

“Both crashes took place on the exact same biblical day, Elul 29, the day of the Shemitah, the day appointed in the Bible to strike a nation’s financial realm, and wipe clean its financial accounts,” said Cahn, the senior rabbi at the nation’s largest messianic congregation, the Beth Israel Worship Center in Wayne, N.J.

“The Shemitah is based on a seven-year cycle,” he said. “If you go back seven years from the greatest crash in our financial history, it takes you to [Sept. 17, 2001].”

And while Sept. 11, 2001, and Sept. 29, 2008, are not exactly seven years apart on the Western calendar, they are on the biblical Hebrew calendar, Cahn pointed out.

“On the biblical Hebrew calendar, it was Elul 29, the Day of the Shemitah, to strike a nation’s financial realm,” Cahn said. “So the greatest crashes in American history, up to those days, each happened on the exact same biblical day, the day that just happened to be appointed to strike a nation’s financial realm, and exactly seven biblical years apart to the very day and the very hours.”

The next Shemitah begins in September 2014 and concludes in September 2015. And while he’s not “dogmatic as to what will happen,” Cahn said it’s quite curious to note that the dates of the blood moons “in some ways parallel the Shemitah’s in that they take place also between 2014 and 2015.”

“The correlation between (the blood moons) and the Hebrew holidays are very interesting,” Cahn said. “The occurrence of the blood moons on these Jewish holidays occurred only a few times in the past 2,000 years. Some of these, in the early Middle Ages, are hard to connect to significant dates. But the last three, the Spanish expulsion, the birth of Israel and the regaining of Jerusalem, are all very significant dates in Jewish history and, in the case of two of these, in end-time prophecy.”

Haven’t we heard this before?

Despite these apocalyptic portents, critics point to a nearly endless string of failed end-times predictions dating back thousands of years. This includes the the Mayan apocalypse on Dec. 21, 2012, and radio evangelist Harold Camping’s prediction that Christ would return on May 21, 2011.

Laurie, pastor of the 15,000-member Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., and president of Harvest Crusades, said he’s seen many end-times prognosticators come and go over the last several decades.

Laurie, who got his start under the ministry of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa Pastor Chuck Smith, who died Oct. 3 at age 86, became a Christian during the Jesus Movement of the 1970s – a time when there was a great emphasis on the imminent return of Christ.

It was the decade of Hal Lindsey’s “The Late Great Planet Earth,” the book the New York Times called the “No. 1 nonfiction bestseller” of the 1970s. The book popularized prophetic beliefs about the last days and contributed to the Jesus Movement.

“Well, clearly, decades have passed and Jesus has not returned,” Laurie said. “Were we misguided in our beliefs? Well, I don’t think we were. The Bible says that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and it also says in the same series of verses that God is not late as some men count lateness, but is longsuffering toward us.

“And I’m glad that God did not answer our prayers back in the early ’70s for Jesus to come back, because if he had, there would have been a lot of people who would have missed the Rapture and would have gone through the Tribulation period.”

Today, Franklin Graham, the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, said there is an urgency and sense “that the Lord Jesus could be returning soon.”

“The Bible gives us warning signs,” he said. “Jesus told his disciples the things people should be looking for, and I believe all the prophecies that have to take place for Jesus to return have been fulfilled.”

One of the big prophecies was the rebirth of the nation of Israel in 1948.

“It’s just now a question of when is that time, and I believe in my own heart that it’s sometime soon,” he said. “When I say soon – the next 10, 20 years – I don’t know. But as far as the history of the world, I believe we’re coming down to the midnight hour on God’s clock.”

‘We can’t go on much longer’

Charlie Daniels, the country music legend and the host of the recent documentary, “Behold a Pale Horse: America’s Last Chance,” said Billy Graham is a very dedicated man of God and “what he’s feeling is very much valid and in connection with what is going on now.”

“I also feel the end times are approaching,” said Daniels, who is best known for his No. 1 country hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” “I don’t know the chronology. I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but I know it’s closer than it was. I believe that the things left to be fulfilled in the Bible could be fulfilled in a very short amount of time.”

It’s a time, Billy Graham wrote in “The Reason for My Hope: Salvation,” to take the news of the day in one hand and the Bible in the other and watch the unfolding of the great drama of the ages come together.

“This is an exciting and thrilling time to be alive,” wrote Graham, a man who has preached to more people – 2.2 billion – than any Protestant in history and who has appeared on Gallup’s list of the most admired men in the world 56 times since 1955, more than any other individual in the world.

“I would not want to live in any other period,” he said.

“The Apocalypse (the unveiling of the end times) speaks powerfully of trouble ahead with storm warnings that carrying a booming jolt of truth. The warning is clear: prepare to meet thy God – followed by the voice of the gentle Shepherd – ‘Come.’”

A new world is coming, Graham wrote. The paradise that humanity lost in the Garden of Eden will be regained. Christ is coming to conquer evil and establish his perfect rule over all creation

“But until then God wants to give everyone an opportunity to know Christ through repentance and faith,” Graham wrote. “Regardless of what society says, we can’t go on much longer in the sea of immorality without judgment coming. We are at a crossroads, and there are profound moral issues at stake. It is time to return to biblical truth.”

Blood moons: Christians ‘on wrong calendar’

Earthquakes, floods and storms are being reported around the globe, and many Christians, as they have for centuries, are watching for signs of Jesus’ return.

They’re also studying the Bible and tracking events.

But what if the Gregorian calendar, which the Western world has used for generations, doesn’t align with God’s timeline?

Pastor Mark Biltz, founder of the El Shaddai Ministries and proponent of the Hebrew Roots Revival, believes the Gregorian calendar is not in sync with God’s calendar.

“The problem is that we have not been tuned in nor have we been on the right calendar. Our current calendar is based totally on the sun. It is a very accurate calendar. But it is not the calendar God uses. The Muslims’ calendar is based totally on the moon. It, too, is a great calendar but it is not the one God uses,” Biltz explains.

He believes that God created a specific way for tracking time and that he revealed it to men.

“In Genesis, concerning the sun, the moon and the stars that He created, He also said, ‘let them determine the seasons, days and years.’ So while most people on this planet use either the sun or the moon to determine their calendar, it is only the ancient biblical calendar used by the Jewish people that God utilizes to get His messages across,” Biltz explained.

Biltz believes that the reason why Christians aren’t on the right calendar is due to faulty translations of the Bible from the original Hebrew into English.

“When God said the sun and the moon were to determine the seasons, days and years, He was not talking about winter, spring, summer and fall. The problem is the English translations. The same Hebrew word translated into English as ‘seasons’ in Genesis 1 is translated into English as ‘feasts’ in Leviticus 23:2. The Hebrew word is ‘moed’ and is better translated as ‘divine appointments.’ When it talks about days and years it is referring to determining the Holy days such as Passover and the Feast of Rosh Hashanah and not to Labor Day!” Biltz states.

Biltz believes the details of the biblical calendar easily can be integrated into the Western world’s traditional calendar, because for a time he lived in an area that used both Central and Mountain Time.

“I lived in Garden City, Kan., where many people had two clocks because they were on the time line differentiating between Central Time and Mountain Time. To communicate with each other, even being only a few miles away we had to know whose time zone we were going to use. Well, we also need to have two calendars in this world if we want to include God in our conversation,” the pastor said.

Biltz believes that God wants to reveal the biblical calendar so that people can understand the signals He uses to communicate.

Blitz is particularly focused on total lunar eclipses, also known as blood moons, and what they mean in God’s plan for mankind.

His research on the topic was the basis for John Hagee’s latest bestseller, “Four Blood Moons: Something is About to Change,” and was used by Biltz to produce a new calendar with his findings.

Biltz is also currently at work on a book for WND that will delve even further into the topic.

“Scientifically you can only have a solar eclipse on the first day of the Jewish calendar and you can only have a lunar eclipse on the 15th of the Jewish calendar. Throughout history there are thousands of eclipses that happen but they don’t always fall on the feast days. So when eclipses fall on the feast days, we have to consider what signal it is that God is trying to send us,” Biltz says.

“When you consider the last time there were four blood moons in a row … falling on the feast days was in 1967 and 1968 when Israel recaptured Jerusalem. The time before that was the two years right after they became a nation in 1948. You can’t help but stand there with your mouth opened wide with the impeccable timing and signals sent to the world by the Creator of the universe,” Biltz concludes.

Biltz’s message centers on the fact that the messianic prophecies that Jesus fulfilled 2,000 years ago, when He came the first time, happened to the very day.

Biltz explains how His second coming events will also happen to the very day of the Fall Feasts.

Yeshua died for our sins on Passover, Biltz says, was buried on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, was resurrected from death on First Fruits, and then sent the Holy Spirit to indwell believers on the Jewish Feast of Pentecost (Shavuot).

If He fulfilled the Spring Feasts to the very day on His first coming, Biltz argues, He will fulfill the Fall Feasts to the very day on His second coming.

Biltz also reveals a link between charts of solar and lunar eclipses from NASA’s website and Israel’s history, the biblical feast days and the signs in the heavens, drawing clear similarities between them and showing how they line up through history.

Hagee’s “Four Blood Moons” points out that on Passover in 2014, the first of a series of mysterious astronomical events will occur that will have the whole world looking up at the night skies.

The story actually began in 2008 when Biltz made an astounding discovery – a story broken first by WND.

Biltz had been studying prophecies that focus on the sun and moon, even going back to the book of Genesis where it states the lights in the sky would be “be for signs, and for seasons.”

“It means a signal, kind of like ‘one if by land, two if by sea.’ It’s like God wants to signal us,” he said. “The Hebrew word implies … not only is it a signal, but it’s a signal for coming or His appearing.”

Biltz notes that the word “seasons” implies appointed times for God’s feasts and festivals.

In the Old Testament, the prophet Joel states, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.” (Joel 2:31)

In the New Testament, Jesus is quoted as saying: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light. … And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Matthew 24:29-30)

Acts 2 states: “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.”

“God wants us to look at the biblical calendar,” says Biltz. “The reason we need to be watching is [because] He will signal His appearance. But we have to know what to be watching as well. So we need to be watching the biblical holidays.”

Biltz noticed that “blood moons” result from lunar eclipses.

When checking the schedule for eclipses, Biltz found two – one on Passover the next on the high holy day of Rosh Hashanah, the first day of the seventh Hebrew month. Two more take place in 2015, also on biblical “feast” days.

Hagee also has taken Biltz’s findings and authored the first book about the blood moons that some believe will herald the Second Coming of Jesus.

Only 1 in 3 Young Born-Again Evangelicals Believe Jesus Is Only Way to Heaven, Apologist Says

By Stoyan Zaimov, Christian Post Reporter

October 12, 2013|12:56 pm

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Young American born-again believers are moving away from a biblically-centered worldview, with only one in three affirming that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, according to Steve Cable, senior vice president of Probe Ministries.

“We need to admit (that there’s a problem),” Cable said on Friday at a session titled “What Do [Young] American Believers Really Believe and How Do We Save Them From Cultural Captivity?” at Southern Evangelical Seminary’s 20th annual Christian Apologetics conference in Charlotte, N.C.

“Don’t go around with your blinders thinking that everything is fine. We have a lot of people that aren’t born again, so there’s a lot of work to do. But then you look at the born-agains and see that we have even more work to do.”

Cable, who recently published Cultural Captives: The Beliefs and Behavior of American Young Adults, focused the session on what he called “emerging adults,” or young believers between 18-29 years old. He disputed arguments that evangelicals are well-positioned and that their numbers in America haven’t changed much in the last 35 years, and brought up the work by sociologist Christian Smith, who is the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for the Study of Religion and Society and the Center for Social Research at the University of Notre Dame.

According to Cable, in books such as Souls in Transition and Lost in Transition, Smith identified five disturbing patterns found in emerging adults. The sociologist argued that most emerging adults are morally adrift – their morals are personal and subjective; they are captive to consumerism; they have little civic and political engagement; they believe that sex is not a moral issue, and they engage in intoxication, or fake feeling of happiness.

“We need to focus on the upcoming generations, saving the lost, saving the captive believers. Don’t stop when they leave high school. Most people’s brains are not fully formed until they are in their early 20s,” Cable said.

Several studies in recent times have tried to analyze the questions young Christians are struggling with, and why many of them are leaving the church. Bestselling author Eric Metaxas shared in an article posted in The Christian Post in July what one student who has left the faith once said: “Christianity is something that if you really believed it, it would change your life and you would want to change [the lives] of others. I haven’t seen too much of that.”

Metaxas noted that such remarks are “pretty sobering.”

“This puts the ball in our court. Are we living lives that show our children that we actually believe what we say we believe?” he asked.

In his presentation on Friday, Cable analyzed a number of charts and graphs, including work done by Barna Research, Christian Smith, the General Social Survey, and the Baylor Religion Survey, which mostly came to the same conclusions about what young Americans and young American Christians believe.

The senior vice president of Probe Ministries said that the survey data showed that only 9 percent of Americans hold a Biblical view, and among emerging adults, that number is even smaller. In general, the statistics showed that in 1990, 11 percent of 18-30 year olds said they have no religion. That number increased to 31 percent in 2012.

“If it continues in that rate, it’s not going to be too many years until we have over 50 percent of young adults in America who say they have no religion,” he said.

Other notable stats showed that born-agains have decreased in number by 22 percent since 1976, while only one in three of emerging adults who said they have been born-again believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to get into heaven.

“This means that two thirds of them do not believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven,” Cable said. “It’s pretty hard to have a biblical belief in Jesus Christ and believe there are other ways to heaven.”

Similarly, when asked basic questions relating to their faith, only one in three of born-again young evangelicals were found to hold a biblical worldview, and only one in five were actively engaged in practicing their faith.

“The evangelicals who are living out their lives as a witness to Jesus Christ, bringing these non-evangelicals to faith in the Lord – it’s 1 out of 25,” Cable added.

He offered, however, that those Christians who are going to church or identifying as born-agains but siding with what culture tells them instead of the Bible, called “cultural captives,” can still be reached by truth.

“Interact with them, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel does not change,” he advised.

“(They) need to be Christ servants. They need to learn to accept objective truth, and be aware of cultural traps.”

As a possible solution, Cable offered a new in-depth 7-week church experience called “Once Captive,” aimed at young adults, offering them ways to escape “cultural captivity” and embrace a biblical worldview.

Chuck Smith, 86, Dies After Cancer Battle

G. Jeffrey MacDonald

[ posted 10/3/2013 7:01AM ]

Chuck Smith, the evangelical pastor whose outreach to hippies in the 1960s helped transform worship styles in American Christianity and fueled the rise of the Calvary Chapel movement, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, after a battle with lung cancer. He was 86.

Diagnosed in 2011, Smith continued to preach and oversee administration at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (California), where he’d been pastor since 1965. In 2012, he established a 21-member leadership council to oversee the Calvary Church Association, a fellowship of some 1,600 like-minded congregations in the United States and abroad.

Smith was known for expository preaching as he worked his way through the entire Bible, unpacking texts from Genesis through Revelation and offering commentary along the way.

Yet it was his openness to new cultural styles, including laid-back music and funky fashions of California’s early surfer scene, that helped him reach young idealists and inspire a trend toward seeker-sensitive congregations.

“He led a movement that translated traditional conservative Bible-based Christianity to a large segment of the baby boom generation’s counterculture,” says Brad Christerson, a Biola University sociologist who studies charismatic churches in California. “His impact can be seen in every church service that has electric guitar-driven worship, hip casually-dressed pastors, and 40-minute sermons consisting of verse-by-verse Bible expositions peppered with pop-culture references and counterculture slang.”

Born to a Bible-quoting mother and a salesman father who became a zealous convert in midlife, Smith grew up in Southern California, where he witnessed to the Gospel from a young age.

After Bible college training and a stint as a traveling evangelist, he sought a niche in Pentecostalism by pastoring several Church of the Foursquare Gospel congregations. But he confesses in Chuck Smith: A Memoir of Grace: “I just never succeeded” in that denominational environment.

He found his groove in the 1960s, when many evangelicals were frowning on the wild outfits, long hair and psychedelic music that were all the rage among young adults. One seminal moment came during his early days at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, where old guard trustees posted a sign in their renovated sanctuary: “no bare feet allowed.” Smith tore it down with a promise to reach young souls for Christ, even it meant throwing out new pews and carpeting and bringing in steel folding chairs.

“Lifestyle issues and morality issues were things that he would expect Christ would clean up in these folks lives,” said Larry Eskridge, associate director of the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals at Wheaton College. “But the informality of these folks and the music they were fond of – he was willing to let that slide quite a bit.”

Smith never became a hippie, Eskridge said. But he nonetheless won a following as a non-judgmental father figure by welcoming a blend of pop music, poetry and aspiration to live like Jesus. Together with hippie Lonnie Frisbee, Smith helped propel the Jesus People Movement, with its embrace of Christ’s teachings and disavowal of institutional church trappings.

Smith also pioneered translations of Gospel teachings into 20th-century pop art forms. In 1971, he launched Maranatha! Music, a pioneering record label designed to promote the “Jesus music” that his young followers were producing on the California coast.

Netanyahu declares to world leaders: “In our time the Biblical prophecies are being realized.”

(Washington, D.C.) — “In our time the Biblical prophecies are being realized,” Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu declared before world leaders gathered at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.

“As the prophet Amos said, they shall rebuild ruined cities and inhabit them,” Netanyahu said. “They shall plant vineyards and drink their wine. They shall till gardens and eat their fruit. And I will plant them upon their soil never to be uprooted again. Ladies and gentlemen, the people of Israel have come home never to be uprooted again.”

I don’t personally recall a single other Israeli leader in the modern era who has spoken so clearly of the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Perhaps David Ben Gurion did, for the first Israeli premier had a great interest in the Scriptures. But Netanyahu’s own interest in the Scriptures has been growing significantly in recent years, as I have noted on the blog, and increasingly pronounced in his public statements. At a speech at the Auschwitz death camp in 2009, for example, Netanyahu declaredthat the prophecies of Ezekiel 37 — the dry bones of the Jewish people coming back together miraculously to form the State of Israel — had come to pass in his lifetime.

Netanyahu also alluded in the speech to the Biblical prophecies of a Persian king named “Cyrus” would rise up one day and set the Jewish people free from captivity.

“The Jewish people’s odyssey through time has taught us two things: Never give up hope, always remain vigilant. Hope charts the future. Vigilance protects it,” Netanyahu said. “Today our hope for the future is challenged by a nuclear-armed Iran that seeks our destruction. But I want you to know, that wasn’t always the case. Some 2,500 years ago the great Persian king Cyrus ended the Babylonian exile of the Jewish people. He issued a famous edict in which he proclaimed the right of the Jews to return to the land of Israel and rebuild the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. That’s a Persian decree. And thus began an historic friendship between the Jews and the Persians that lasted until modern times.”

Isaiah was a Hebrew prophet who prophesied that a great Persian king named “Cyrus” would emerge one day to bless the Jewish people, release them from captivity, send them back to the land of Israel, and rebuild the city of Jerusalem. (See Isaiah 44:28 through 45:13.)

A Persian king named “Cyrus” did, in fact, emerge to fulfill Isaiah’s prophecies.

  •  See 2 Chronicles 36:22-23 – “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia – in order to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah – the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he sent a proclamation throughout his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying, ‘Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, “The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all His people, may the Lord His God be with him, and let him go up!”’”
  • See the Book of Ezra – “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia – in order to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah – the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he sent a proclamation throughout his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying, ‘Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, “The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all His people, may His God be with him! Let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah and rebuild the house of the Lord, the God of Israel; He is the God who is in Jerusalem. Every survivor, at whatever place he may live, let the men of that place support him with silver and gold, with goods and cattle, together with a freewill offering for the house of God which is in Jerusalem.” (Ezra 1:1-4)

BILLY GRAHAM: NOW IS TIME FOR ‘FRESH AWAKENING’

Many see early signs of spiritual renewal in America

Published: 13 hours ago

By Troy Anderson

Believing the signs of the “end of the age” that Jesus Christ spoke of are now converging for the first time in 2,000 years, famed international evangelist Billy Graham is fervently praying for a “fresh spiritual awakening in America.”

“If ever there was a time this country needed the intervention of God, it is now,” said Graham, who is giving what could be his final message to the world during the “My Hope America with Billy Graham” evangelistic outreach on Nov. 7, his 95th birthday.

The sermon will be broadcast worldwide via satellite and the Internet. More information can be found by calling 1-877-MY-HOPE, or 1-877-769-4673.

“We can and should pray for America as a whole, but remember that when God sets out to change a nation, He begins by changing people,” Graham said. “It starts with individuals. The more I pray, the more deeply I feel that My Hope America is the right outreach for this country today.”

It seems God is listening to Graham’s prayers.

In nearly a dozen interviews with WND, prominent national faith leaders, pollsters and others said they are witnessing what appear to be early signs of a spiritual awakening – at least among segments of the American populace.

In his new book “God Is Alive and Well: The Future of Religion in America,” Gallup Editor-in-Chief Frank Newport claims the United States “may be on the cusp of a religious renaissance.”

Although he cites several reasons, Newport bases his prediction mostly on the fact that the number of Americans age 65 and older is expected to double over the next two decades, and research shows people become more religious at this stage of life.

Given the sheer size of the baby boomer generation, Newport says the “entire nation will thus tilt more religious in the years ahead.”

“It’s a huge shift,” Newport said. “We are going to see a doubling in the number of people at the age where they generally tend to be more religious, and, therefore, I think religiosity will increase for that reason alone.”

Across generations

But it’s not just the baby boomer generation that has seen the light.

Banning Liebscher, director of Jesus Culture, an international Christian revivalist youth outreach ministry based out of Bethel Church in Redding, Calif., said he’s now seeing what he believes are the initial signs of a spiritual awakening among a segment of today’s youth, too.

“It may be in seed form,” Liebscher said. “It may not be a full, mature awakening, but it’s happening. In every city we go to, there are thousands of young people who come out whose hearts are awakened to the love of Jesus and the power of God. I would say absolutely an awakening is happening.”

Liebscher has studied the history of America’s Great Awakenings – a term that refers to several waves of increased religious enthusiasm over the last few centuries – and each came at a time like the one America is in now. As Graham wrote in an open letter to America last summer calling for repentance, the nation is in an “urgent hour,” Liebscher said, and “morality is in decline.”

Most people agree. A March report by the American Bible Society found 77 percent of Americans believe morals and values are declining. They cited a lack of Bible reading as the main culprit.

“As I read the history of revival – the outpourings and awakenings – these things all happened when a nation was in moral decline,” Liebscher said. “In the first and second Great Awakenings, it really was a time where society felt like it was in moral decline, but all of a sudden God would step in with an awakening.”

‘End of the age’

The indications of a potential religious revival in America come as a number of major evangelists and ministries – Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, Reinhard Bonnke, Greg Laurie, Chuck Smith, Luis Palau, Liebscher and others – are turning their attention toward America in the hope of helping ignite what Graham describes as an end-times “great spiritual awakening.”

In addition to Graham’s worldwide outreach, numerous crusades and similar events are being planned in the coming months and years. Bonnke, founder of Christ for All Nations, will speak Sept. 27-28 at the Good News Orlando crusade at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. Laurie, pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., will speak Sept. 28-29 at Harvest America at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa.

In an exclusive interview with WND exploring the reasons behind My Hope America, Graham explained he believes the world is coming to the “end of the age, not the end of the world or the earth but the end of the age – the period that God has set aside for this particular time.”

“There’s a great deal to say in the Bible about the signs we’re to watch for and when these signs all converge at one place we can be sure that we’re close to the end of the age,” Graham said. “And those signs in my judgment are converging now for the first time since Jesus made those predictions.”

Recent polls indicate a substantial portion of the American public agrees with Graham, a man who has preached to more people – 2.2 billion – than any Protestant in history and who has appeared on Gallup’s list of the most admired men and women 55 times since 1955, more than any other individual in the world.

A recent OmniPoll conducted by the Barna Group found four in 10 Americans, and 77 percent of evangelical Christians, believe the “world is now living in the biblical end times.” A poll released Sept. 13 by LifeWay Research found one in three Americans see Syria’s current conflict “as part of the Bible’s plan for the end times.” One in four think a U.S. military strike in Syria “could lead to Armageddon.”

Paul McGuire, an internationally recognized Bible prophecy expert who is a regular commentator on Fox News and CNN and appeared on two highly rated History Channel specials, “7 Signs of the Apocalypse” and “Countdown to Apocalypse: Four Horsemen,” said a growing number of people are concluding the biblical end times have finally arrived and are turning to God.

“The average teenager and American has heard all kinds of bits and pieces of prophetic teaching and now they see these prophecies coming true,” said McGuire, the author of 22 Bible prophecy books, including “The Day the Dollar Died” and an upcoming one, “A Prophecy of the Future of America.” “They have heard about Ezekiel 38 and that Russia and Iran are in the Bible. They’ve heard about Armageddon and that a one-world government and economic system are coming. The teenagers and young people have also heard about the ‘mark of the beast.’”

Turning to God

As people are watching events unfold that point to the approaching fulfillment of these ancient prophecies, McGuire said those who never would have looked to God or the Bible in the past are doing so now.

“What’s happened is that the pressures are so great that we now have the possibility that if we have repentance – and repentance has to come from the church first – we could have a national revival,” McGuire said. “We could see mass evangelism and a real change in America as millions of people turn to Christ as they did during the first and second Great Awakenings.”

Ed Stetzer, president of LifeWay Research, said he certainly would like to see a spiritual awakening in America but noted “Great Awakenings are rare.”

Nevertheless, Stetzer said Newport’s new book does “point to the possibility of a religious awakening.”

This potential is counter-intuitive, especially in the wake of the cavalcade of recent polls and mainstream media stories, including a 2009 Newsweek cover story titled “The Decline and Fall of Christian America,” which claims the U.S. is fast becoming a “post-Christian” nation.

“The irony is Jon Meacham wrote that article, ‘The Decline and Fall of Christian America,’ and Newsweek has subsequently ended,” Stetzer said. “So the magazine that covered the end of Christian America no longer publishes a magazine.”

In his recent USA Today column, “Christianity isn’t dying,” Stetzer “cut through the recent hype” and noted that “no serious scholar believes that Christianity in America is on a trajectory of extinction.”

Rise of the nones

In recent years, polls have found that religious affiliation in the U.S has hit its lowest point in decades. Last year, one in five Americans claimed they had no religious preference, more than double the number in 1990. The polls also found one-in-three millennials – those born between the early 1980s and early 2000s – have no religious affiliation.

The “nones,” as they are called, are people who claim no faith or say they are unaffiliated with any organized religious system.

But Newport and Stetzer said this so-called “rise of the nones” has more to do with how people describe themselves than an actual drop in spirituality in the nation.

“I think it’s a change in labeling,” Newport said. “The data is fairly significant that suggests the people who over time have become more likely to say they have no religious identity are people who were already not religious.

“So what we are seeing is the hidden ‘nones’ who in the past told an interviewer, ‘Oh, I’m a Catholic,’ or ‘I’m a Baptist,’ because that’s how they were raised. Now, these people feel freer to tell an interviewer, ‘I don’t have a formal religious identity.’ I think to a significant degree that’s what we’ve been seeing with this increase in the ‘nones.’”

Stetzer agrees, noting the 2009 American Religious Identification Survey found 76 percent of Americans identified themselves as Christians, down from 86 percent in 1990.

“Absolutely, there has been a decline in self-identified Christians,” Stetzer said. “So, 76 percent of Americans still identify themselves as Christians. The thing is you and I don’t use the word Christian the same way that the culture uses Christian. Of that 76 percent who are Christians, think of three blocks – 25, 25 and 25. Roughly 25 percent have a convictional commitment, a born-again expression; about 25 percent would have some sort of connection to a church; and about 25 percent would just be a cultural expression of Christianity.”

As a result, what is collapsing, Stetzer said, is not Christianity, but “people who used to call themselves Christians.

“Today, they are increasingly saying they are nothing,” Stetzer said. “So the nominal Christians are becoming the ‘nones,’ which makes it look like we’re in decline and collapse, but remember there are more people who self-identify as evangelicals today than there were in 1972.”

Even more surprising, more Americans now belong to a local church congregation – 70 percent – than ever before in the nation’s history, wrote Rodney Stark, co-director of the Institute for Studies of Religion at Baylor University, in his recent book “America’s Blessings: How Religion Benefits Everyone, Including Atheists.” That percentage is up from 64 percent in 1990 and only 17 percent in 1776, Stark wrote.

Ramping up efforts

In terms of the possibility of what Graham calls a “fresh spiritual awakening,” Laurie, president of Harvest Crusades, said he’s encouraged that Graham, Bonnke, Liebscher and other evangelists are “ramping up their efforts in evangelism.”

As he looks at today’s youth, Laurie said he sees a hunger for the Bible and spiritual things.

“It gives me hope,” Laurie said. “I think one of the tragic things is we have a nearly completely biblically illiterate generation before us now, a generation for the most part that has not been raised with the Bible, and they have not been raised in church,” Laurie said.

That’s the bad news, Laurie said. The good news is they are “effectively a blank slate.”

“They don’t have any beliefs, and I think it’s a great opportunity for the church to step in boldly, without apology, with a message that is authentic and powerful and life-changing and to say to these young people: ‘You can know the God who made you. You don’t need to turn to drugs and alcohol or other things to fill that void in your life. You can find what you are looking for in a relationship with Jesus Christ,’ ” Laurie said. “This could be the church’s finest hour. I hope we seize it.”

As he’s traveled the nation, Bonnke said he’s seen some “wonderful hot spots” in terms of spiritual fervor.

“There are some hot spots, but I believe the picture as a whole is a picture of great need,” Bonnke said. “We have focused too much on preaching the gospel behind the closed doors of churches. The four walls of a church are the most evangelized real estate in America, but Jesus tells us to go the highways and byways. I believe we have to learn again to go to the highways and byways where the people are and proclaim the ABCs of the gospel, which is that Jesus saves.”

Franklin Graham, president and chief executive officer of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Graham’s son, said evangelism just doesn’t happen.

“It has to be planned,” he said. “You have to have a strategy. You have to make a concerted effort that we are going to evangelize, and that’s what we are hoping we can do with My Hope, is to work with the churches so the churches can catch a vision for evangelism, and let’s just see what happens.”

Graham said the plan for My Hope begins with praying for the unsaved.

“Praying for them and then using that as an opportunity to invite them to come to your home,” he said, “and then we work with you by putting together a telecast on television that will make it easy for you to turn to your friends and family and say, ‘You’ve heard the gospel. You’ve heard that Jesus Christ died for your sins. You’ve heard that He rose from the grave. Would you like to invite this Jesus of Nazareth into your heart?’”

Tom Crandall, who pastored the youth group at Bethel Church in Redding, Calif. that Jesus Culture emerged from, said he’s witnessing a spiritual hunger among youth all over America.

“It doesn’t matter if you are rich or you are poor, everybody is hungry,” Crandall said. “I think [Liebscher] is right. There are seeds all over America that are just waiting for water and the right timing for revival to break forth.

“We are trying to raise up mothers and fathers in our youth ministry who can handle the harvest. I praise God for these crusades and can’t wait for them to happen, but the church has to be ready for the new believers,” he said. “The body of Christ has to be ready to take new babies so the families can grow at a fast rate. I think the harvest is coming. Actually, I think it’s already here.”

Pope Francis assures atheists: You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven

Wednesday 11 September 2013

In comments likely to enhance his progressive reputation, Pope Francis has written a long, open letter to the founder of La Repubblica newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari, stating that non-believers would be forgiven by God if they followed their consciences.

Responding to a list of questions published in the paper by Mr Scalfari, who is not a Roman Catholic, Francis wrote: “You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don’t believe and who don’t seek the faith. I start by saying – and this is the fundamental thing – that God’s mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience.

“Sin, even for those who have no faith, exists when people disobey their conscience.”

Robert Mickens, the Vatican correspondent for the Catholic journal The Tablet, said the pontiff’s comments were further evidence of his attempts to shake off the Catholic Church’s fusty image, reinforced by his extremely conservative predecessor Benedict XVI. “Francis is a still a conservative,” said Mr Mickens. “But what this is all about is him seeking to have a more meaningful dialogue with the world.”

In a welcoming response to the letter, Mr Scalfari said the Pope’s comments were “further evidence of his ability and desire to overcome barriers in dialogue with all”.

In July, Francis signalled a more progressive attitude on sexuality, asking: “If someone is gay and is looking for the Lord, who am I to judge him?”

New Signs of an Imminent Rapture – By Carl Worline

Around the middle of July, I wrote an article about how there are so many signs pointing to the end of the Age of Grace that we can hardly see the road upon which we are traveling as we move ever closer to the Rapture of the church. Approximately four weeks have passed since I wrote my previous article and during that time so many new signs have popped up that I feel an urgent need to list some of the more prominent ones.

I hope this article will encourage those who are patiently watching and longing for Jesus to come and take us home. I also hope that, perhaps, somebody who is only lukewarm in their walk with the Lord will find this article and realize that it is time to get serious. We actually are the last generation of the Age of Grace.

Something big is about to happen and it is not only going to happen really, really soon; it is also going to be so spectacular that it is beyond our ability to comprehend.

Time and space only permit me to list the most significant signs that have popped up in recent weeks. There is so much more going on in the world that is pointing to an imminent rapture. Please forgive me for all that I have failed to include. I will also make a sincere attempt to leave out all of the signs I pointed out in my first article so as to have room for the newest signs that I feel require our attention.

The earth continues to groan as it longs to be free of the curse that was pronounced upon it when Adam and Eve first sinned again God. Freakish weather continues to be the new “normal.” This freakish weather is not being caused by: global warming.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports that data for 2012 shows we are now experiencing a cooling trend, and a recent report by the Met Office show that global warming actually ended 16 years ago. The arctic saw the shortest summer in recorded history.

South America is currently in a massive deep freeze as the death toll in China rises from their record heat wave. The lingering heat wave in Japan has left 19 dead and put 9,800 people in the hospital so far. Heavy rain in Pakistan has killed hundreds. Severe flooding continues in Southeast Asia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.

In the past month more than 150,000, have been displaced by flooding in Sudan─with more rain expected in the coming days. Meanwhile, Germany is experiencing a heat wave and hailstones the size of tennis balls.

Rainfall in Iran has decreased by 58 percent as they continue to threaten to destroy Israel. There were 1,122, record cold temperatures recorded in the U.S. during a single week. The drought in New Zealand has been the most extreme in history. Natural disasters displaced 32.4 million people in 2012 with 2013 on track to be even worse.

We are currently experiencing 34 major wildfires burning across 11 western states and staggering amounts of rainfall in 16 eastern states. Severe heat is being felt across the entire nation. Dormant volcanoes are coming back to life.

The last time I checked there were 7 volcanoes that were showing new activity and 9 volcanoes with on-going activity. A volcanic eruption in Indonesia just killed 6 scientists. Earlier this year we had 4 volcanoes erupting in Russia within a range of just over 100 miles of each other. Many other volcanoes are showing a growing increase in seismic activity.

Earthquakes continue at an alarming rate and have become so common that they are seldom reported in the news. The latest one was a severe, damaging, and shallow magnitude 6.9 in New Zealand on August 15th.

Strange unidentified sounds coming from no apparent source or direction continue to be reported all over the world. The sounds are described as heavy scraping, to groaning, to booms or explosions, to a continuous hum.

A steady, droning sound that creeps in slowly in the dark of night and continues for many hours at a time has been reported in places as disparate as Taos, New Mexico; Bristol, England; and Largs, Scotland. Loud booms have been reported in 25 regions of the U.S.

In the Bible we are given a message of judgment in the last days. The prophet Hosea foretold how the land, itself would mourn:

“Therefore the land mourns, and everyone who lives in it languishes, along with the beasts of the field and the birds of the sky; and also the fish of the sea disappear” (Hosea 3:2).

Perhaps we should believe what Hosea prophesied around 710 years before Christ. I had planned to list the mass animal die-offs that have occurred in just one month picked at random this year, but the list would be too long. Please go to the link below, which lists 519 known mass animal die-offs that have occurred in 78 countries so far this year.

These are only the know occurrences. Many more unreported ones certainly exist. While you are there please take a few moments to pause and consider this incredible loss of life. God is using the animals as a warning to us of what is about to come upon mankind.

On Wednesday, August 7, 2013, Japanese officials informed us that highly radioactive water is pouring out of the damaged nuclear power plant complex at Fukushima at the rate of 300 tons per day. This highly radioactive water is systematically poisoning the entire Pacific Ocean.

There are also 400 tons of highly irradiated spent fuel rods that are tightly packed together at the moment and need to be removed as part of the clean-up. This nuclear material has the very real potential of releasing 14,000 times the amount of radiation that was released from the atomic blast at Hiroshima 68 years ago.

Despite all of the current flooding throughout the world fresh water is becoming scarce. One-third of the world’s population has limited access to clean water. Egypt is ready to go to war with Ethiopia over the Nile. Pakistan is on the verge of a crisis over the lack of drinking water. Sub-Saharan Africa is in particularly dire need. In 20 African countries, more than 30 percent of the population does not have access to safe drinking water.

China and India are also experiencing unprecedented strain on their drinking water supplies. Drought in Namibia is threatening over 400,000 people with hunger. A recent report confirms that the 2013 drought in New Zealand was the worst of all time. The largest reservoir in New Mexico only contains 3 percent of the water that it did during the 1980s and 1990s.

In chapter 24 of Matthew Jesus told us that there would be signs in the heavens of His Second Coming. This seems very logical since they will be visible to the entire world. There has been a huge up-tick in solar activity, especially in the southern hemisphere of the sun.

NASA tells us the sun will reverse its magnetic polarity within the next three months and the effects will be felt far beyond the orbit of Pluto, which is the farthest planet in our solar system.

A high-speed solar wind is currently buffeting the Earth’s magnetic field and this is causing a G-1 geomagnetic storm around the Earth’s poles. There was a very spectacular filament eruption on the sun on August 6th.

During the middle of July there was a coronal mass ejection from our sun that was large enough to have produced a Carrington-class electromagnetic pulse (EMP) disaster. This huge pulse crossed the Earth’s orbit and barely missed colliding with the Earth.

A coronal hole has formed on the sun’s northern hemisphere and it is spewing solar wind into space. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory photographed the UV dark gap during the early hours of August 14th.

These coronal mass ejections in recent months have produced some spectacular displays of northern lights. In the meantime, the Perseid meteor show has just concluded. A new star has been discovered in the constellation Delphinus.

There was a 1,250 mile-wide hurricane at the north pole of Saturn, and a meteor struck a garbage dump in China punching a 6-foot deep hole into the ground.

Jesus told us that there would be an increase of evil in the last days. We are certainly seeing an increase of horribly sick and disgusting acts. One small recent example would be the two 18-year-old girls whose faces and upper bodies were horribly burned with acid during the recent celebration of Ramadan in Zanzibar.

I am not going to list any further examples because they are just too sickening to think about. Nevertheless, the number of these acts continues to rise dramatically.

Islam continues to spread throughout the world with a rabid vengeance. A group called the American Muslim Political Action Committee is planning a one million man Muslim march on Washington D.C. to protest the profiling and treatment of Muslims and they are also planning to hold it on September 11, the anniversary of the worst domestic massacre in American history in the name of Islam.

The Muslim world continues to demand that the rest of our planet accept Sharia Law with all of its horrors. Islam hates Jews, Christians, and all other religions with a fanatical passion that can only be described as “supernatural.” There is also a huge increase in Muslim vs. Muslim fighting.

When the restraining influence of Christianity is snatched away from the world in the harpazo (Rapture) a single worldwide religion will form in which Islam will play a very major role. Even the leaders of Islam can sense this. Leaders in Iran are, once again, loudly proclaiming that Armageddon is at hand and to prepare for war because the arrival of the Mahdi is imminent.

Christianity continues to spiral out of control toward extinction in the Middle East and the rest of the Muslim world. Churches, homes, and businesses of Christians in Egypt have been stormed and burned. Egypt is the home to one of the oldest Christian communities in the world and also has the largest Christian population in the Middle East, totaling 8 to 12 million people. The government of Cameroon has shut down 50 Pentecostal churches and has vowed to shut down an additional 50 churches.

Christianity is fast becoming an endangered species in Nigeria where over 100 Christians are murdered each month. Jihad is emptying entire towns in Syria. Christian students in Eritrea have been beaten and imprisoned for refusing to renounce Christ. In India five women were publicly beaten for sharing the gospel.

On August 2nd three evangelists in Indonesia were sentenced to 3 years in prison for “evangelizing Muslims.” U.S. State Department spokesperson, Jen Psaki, issued a press release condemning the “enemies of Islam” who were responsible for terrorist attacks at the end of Ramadan while remaining totally silent about the terrorist attacks against Christians throughout the entire Middle East and Muslim world.

Persecution of Christians here in the U.S. continues to grow in intensity. Ever since the June 26th pro-gay rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court, religious persecution of Christians within the United States has increased dramatically. One example would include people who provide services for weddings and have been particularly targeted with horrific fines and even jail time for refusing to provide services for same-sex weddings.

Another example would include an airman who wrote an article titled: “No atheists in foxholes,” and was severely reprimanded for his beliefs, while atheists demanded even more severe punishment.

Anti-Semitism is also increasing. At Toronto’s Al Quds Day, very young children were featured making hate filled rants against Israel and Jews.

A major sign that the Rapture and the end of the Age of Grace, has to be near is the crumbling of fundamental Christian doctrines. The name of Jesus has become a dirty word in politically correct America as well as the rest of the world.

The new pope says it is not for him to judge homosexual priests and the Vatican is even offering “time off from purgatory” for those who follow Pope Francis tweets. Are we back to selling indulgences again? Our evangelical community is turning away from opposing homosexuality in favor of a more tolerant atmosphere.

Television evangelist and pastor John Hagee has publicly declared that he no longer opposes a proposed ordinance that seeks to protect the rights of gays, lesbians, transsexuals, and transgender people in San Antonio, Texas.

More people in the U.K. believe in aliens from outer space than do people who believe in God. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has publicly declared that Christianity has helped to make Russia a great nation.

President Putin has called for an end to worldwide persecution of Christians, while President Barack Obama has publicly declared that the United States is not a Christian nation and has remained silent about worldwide Christian persecution.

On July 31st a Muslim Imam opened a session of the United States Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. with an Islamic prayer.

Blasphemy and mocking have reached a fever pitch, just as we were told it would in the last days. A few days ago I watched a story on Fox News showing a small child praying to Obama and praising him for his greatness. I also saw an article about a Facebook post titled, “Virgin Mary Should Have Aborted.”

The content of the post was equally as offensive. Similar pages are becoming increasingly more common. I will not list any further examples because I find them so offensive. We are very definitely in the last of the last days.

Many will argue that all sins are equally offensive to God, but I have always felt that homosexuality in all of its forms is particularly offensive to our Lord. Perhaps this is why the supernatural forces that are at work in the world against us are so intensely determined to force the homosexual agenda upon the rest of us.

Former Archbishop Desmond Tutu has declared that he would prefer hell, over a “homophobic” heaven. Gays are set to sue the Church of England for refusing to perform same-sex weddings. Churches in the United States now fear lawsuits over gay weddings as well.

A proposed law in San Antonio, Texas, would bar Christians, along with anybody else who opposes homosexuality, from holding public office or obtaining a city contract. Rhode Island and Minnesota have just legalized gay marriage, bringing the total to 13 states in the U.S.

Tel Aviv has been one of the most-friendly cities in the world for pro-gay couples in the world and Jerusalem, the city that God claims for Himself─just held a parade to support pro-LGBT legislation in Israel. America has granted gay spouses equal visa privileges.

The U.S. military has recently announced that same-sex spouses will gain all of the benefits open to opposite-sex spouses by September 3rd. This includes healthcare and housing, and will be open to any military member with a valid marriage certificate.

While all of this has been going on a California committee approved legislation, which would cause any non-profit organization that does not embrace homosexuals to lose their tax-exempt status.

Sexual perversion continues to increase as well. On August 11, California’s Democratic governor, Jerry Brown, signed into law the “bathroom bill” mandating schools to allow boys to use the girl’s restrooms and locker rooms, and vice-versa.

When it comes to Internet porn, a recent poll found that the U.S. is well ahead of the rest of the nations of the world and that we are the host of 60 percent of the world’s pornographic websites. The same poll found that 30 percent of all Internet traffic worldwide involves pornographic sites, and that 66 percent of the pornography in the United States originates in California.

Wars and the rumors of wars are one of the major signs we were told to watch for as a sign of the end of the age. Russia recently held the biggest war games in decades, involving 160,000 troops.

Well over 4 million people have been displaced, by the fighting in Syria, as the civil war in that nation lingers on. Chemical weapons have been used in the conflict. The fighting in Syria is becoming global as more and more nations send weapons and troops to participate in the fighting.

Zimbabwe’s government has signed an agreement to sell uranium to Iran. Japan just unveiled its largest warship since WWII. Bitter enemies India and Pakistan, both possess nuclear weapons, are now exchanging gunfire across their borders.

We have just learned that 400 advances hand-held surface-to-air missiles were stolen from Benghazi and have fallen into the hands of radical Islamists.

Britain’s busiest airport, Heathrow, has been put on high terror alert after “credible” intelligence emerged that al-Qaeda is plotting to bring down airliners flying out of London with the help of female suicide bombers with explosives concealed in breast implants.

The IDF reports that Hezbollah has a weapons cache of 60,000 rockets and that all of Israel is now in range. Israel is now facing an on-coming al-Qaeda on all 3 Israeli borders: Golan, Lebanon, and Sinai. Gaza has resumed firing rockets into Israel and Israel has resumed airstrikes against the terrorists who fire them.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has declared that his goal is to have “not a single Israeli” in a future Palestinian state.

The Palestinians have stated clearly and frequently that they will not compromise in their goal to steal all of the land of Israel and to completely once-and-for-all-time eliminate all traces of the nation of Israel and to kill every single Jew in the world. They refuse to recognize the very existence of Israel.

At the same time Israel continues to bomb yet another weapons convoy in Syria and has announced plans to begin the next block of homes in the West Bank, giving preliminary approval for 1,187 new settler homes. Instead of standing with our supposed friend and ally, the U.S. State Department has bitterly criticized Israel for building settlements in the disputed territory.

Secretary of State Kerry has publicly and firmly declared that the United States views all settlements in the disputed territory as illegitimate and illegal. America is the referee who is pushing (shoving) Israel to divide their land. God has promised in the Bible that we will be held accountable for harming Israel.

After assuring us for months that al-Qaeda has been decimated, the United States temporarily closed 21 embassies all over the Middle East and other parts of the world over fear of an imminent attack by al-Qaeda while violence and murders all over Iraq and Afghanistan are leading us to the realization that all of our fallen and wounded soldiers, and the unimaginable amount of money that we spend, were lost in vain.

Our president has assured us that he has al-Qaeda “on the run.” On this point he is absolutely correct. Al-Qaeda is definitely on the run. They are running straight at us with their bayonets fixed and wearing their explosive vests as they scream “Allah Akbar.”

We are told that one sign of the coming Rapture will be the world in a political upheaval. The latest death toll from the uprising in Egypt has now passed 800 with the number of wounded well into the thousands. It will get much worse in the coming days. On August 15th the military backed government of Egypt authorized the further use of live ammunition.

Anti-U.S. hostility is rapidly increasing in Egypt. They barely tolerate our existence as they soak up billions of dollars of American foreign aide. The new president of Egypt has even refused to take calls from Obama. We are on the very verge of the fulfillment of Isaiah 19.

Meanwhile, CNN reports that the CIA is going to unprecedented lengths to insure that whatever it was doing in Benghazi remains secret, even going so far as to require monthly polygraph examinations of those who know the truth.

Signs of an imminent worldwide economic collapse also point to a Rapture occurring at any moment. All of the nations of the world are bankrupt to one degree or another. Each nation holds the others up in a worldwide Ponzi scheme that could have only existed this long through divine intervention.

When the restraining force of our Lord is removed everything will collapse. The only solution will be a worldwide currency with a mandatory and infallible means of personal identification, such as a biometric scan or an RFID chip.

Right now over 97 percent of the money in the world exists only in the electronic memory of the world’s banking computers. Less than 3 percent of the money in the world is in the form of paper, coins, or bars of precious metal. Traders are talking about a worldwide gold conspiracy and there is evidence to back that up.

We have record high demand for physical gold. Earlier this year when the Germans asked for 300 metric tons of their gold from the Federal Reserve in New York they were told that it would take seven years for the Fed to come up with it.

This set off alarm bells all over the world. Right now the bullion banks are experiencing unprecedented difficulties in coming up with the physical gold and physical silver that they are supposed to have. The stock market continues to set record highs yet nothing has been fixed.

Something is very wrong here. There have been multiple occurrences of the “Hindenburg Omen” in recent weeks, which many analysts believe is a serious portent of doom in the stock market.

Nearly all of Mexico lives in poverty. Similar to what Cypress did, Australia is now proposing a levy on bank accounts to pay government debts. Unemployment just passed 27.6 percent in Greece. Japan’s national debt is at $10.5 trillion dollars and is poised to set off a global financial panic at any moment.

Currently, 50 percent of all government tax revenue in Japan goes to interest payment on its debt. Zimbabwe’s President, Robert Mugabe, has claimed a mandate for “black empowerment” and has begun seizing all foreign and white-owned assets in the country.

Signs of an imminent financial collapse in America are equally as stark. Detroit can no longer pay its bills and has filed for the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history. Two Americans are enrolled in food stamps for every job our president has created.

A recent Associated Press survey found 4 out of 5 U.S. adults struggle with joblessness, near poverty, or reliance on welfare for at least part of their lives. California is releasing 9,600 inmates from state prisons to reduce chronic, severe overcrowding and to save money.

In a recent report black teen unemployment is at 41.6 percent. The U.S. debt obligation has now passed $70 trillion dollars. And finally, Americans living overseas are renouncing their citizenship in record numbers in order to avoid oppressive taxes being imposed on those living outside the U.S.

The American military is collapsing. Due to budget cuts brought on by sequestration the Navy has decided that it cannot afford to fix the Los Angeles class nuclear submarine Miami and is, therefore, decommissioning it. The Miami was damaged in May 2012 by a fire while undergoing repairs in dry dock.

We have aircraft carriers in port because we cannot afford to repair or refuel them. The Air Force Space Command has announced that it is shutting down its space surveillance system that detects and tracks satellites and space debris by October 1st due to budget cuts resulting from sequestration.

This system has been operating since 1961 and is now being shut down because we can no longer afford the $14 million dollars it costs to operate each year. So far this year 2 of the 3 intercontinental ballistic missile wings of the American military have miserably failed safety and operational evaluations, calling into serious question our ability to defend our nation in the event of a nuclear strike against us.

However, our military has decided that it could afford to host homosexual drag queens as part of a “diversity day” event at a Los Angeles Air Force Base.

At the same time a 19-year-veteran of the Air Force said that he was relieved of his duties after he disagreed with his openly gay commander when she wanted to severely punish an instructor who had expressed religious objections to homosexuality. Soldiers should not be forced to embrace homosexuality in order to serve our nation.

America is not mentioned in biblical end-time prophecy. Perhaps that is due to America’s political collapse, which has already begun. Our current administration has been rocked by the Benghazi scandal, the IRS scandal, the Fast and Furious scandal, and the Associated Press scandal. As a result, polls show growing support for impeachment.

America has shown a total lack of leadership in recent world crisis. The world is on the brink of war over tensions in the Middle East. When Egypt first erupted in chaos our president went golfing and our Secretary of State took the day off to sail on his private yacht. Neither lifted a finger or said a word to help.

As Egypt descends further into civil war our president continues to play golf on his vacation in Martha’s Vineyard. A former aide has revealed this week that President Obama played cards during the bin Laden raid, which he was later so quick to claim the credit for its success.

In an interview with the New York Times, President Obama suggested that you need to be a lawyer: in order to be able know what the Constitution actually says. President Obama held a Ramadan dinner at the White House while the U.S. is at war with radical Islam – the religion that tells every one of its members to kill every single Christian and Jew.

Obama canceled his “summit” meeting with Russian President Putin amid tensions over Russia granting temporary asylum to Edward Snowden. Apparently our president did not feel that this “summit” meeting was very important.

The approval rating for our president has now dropped to 41 percent.

Lawyers and politicians are now considered to be the bottom feeders of our society. We currently have a large number of politicians who are creating headlines for their sexual misconduct. Many Congressmen admit to passing laws they have not even read. What’s even worse, many of our political leaders, including our president, are refusing to enforce the laws they do not like.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was literally screaming at members of Congress two days after the Benghazi attack for daring to call the tragedy “terrorism.”

America runs off-shore-prisons, including but certainly not limited to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, where inmates have been denied all of the rights guaranteed by our Constitution. Even worse, America has tortured prisoners in these off-shore-prisons and no amount of “spin” can ever change or justify it.

Our integrity has a serious stain upon it that can never be removed and we can no longer claim the moral-high-ground in judging any other nation. America has become something that our Founding Fathers never intended it to be.

America is collapsing morally. Recent polls show that the U.S. marriage rate has dropped to a new low. A newly released video shows college students signing a petition: to legalize abortion after a child is born. Time magazine is promoting the childless lifestyle as the path to “the good life” for U.S. couples.

More than a dozen leading baseball stars have just been given severe fines and suspensions from playing for illegal drug use. And an abortion clinic in Florida is now sending coupons to low income women offering a $50 savings on the cost of an abortion if the abortion is performed on a Sunday.

Political correctness is destroying America. An elementary school in Tennessee has banned pork so as not to offend Muslims. The Missouri State Fair has permanently banned a rodeo clown because he wore an Obama mask during a performance.

A high school track team was disqualified because one of its runners made a gesture thanking God as he crossed the finish line. A teacher in New Jersey was fired for giving a Bible to a student who asked for one. A Florida police officer was fired because he called Travon Martin “a thug” on Facebook.

In San Francisco authorities are installing “privacy screens” on computers in public libraries so perverts can view pornography without disturbing others. The Obama administration has banned any government training materials that link radical Islam with terrorism and is purging these references from all of its old materials.

And in a new Army training manual U.S. soldiers are being warned to avoid all criticism of pedophiles in order to avoid offending Muslims. After all, Mohammad did marry his favorite wife, Aisha, when she was only 6 years old.

Our government continues to conspire against its people. In my last article I talked about the 2 billion (plus) rounds of ammunition out government is hoarding, how the IRS is now training with M-16 full automatic assault rifles, the reported 2,700 armored personnel carriers it has purchased, and so much more.

However, in the last couple of weeks I did note that the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration just purchased 72,000 rounds of hollow-point ammunition. Obama’s federal government is now using automobile license plate readers to track the movement of U.S. motor vehicles. Even police departments in small towns are now tooling up with elite military hardware.

There is also the ever-increasing number of reports in the news of police in America turning into ruthless thugs. In one case, a man innocently searched the words “pressure cooker” on the Internet and another member of his family innocently searched the words “back pack,” only to find six armed agents knocking on his door shortly thereafter.

President Obama is set to sign the UN Arms Treaty this month while Congress is in recess. This will lead to mandatory registration of all firearms in the U.S.

In order to take over the world: The Antichrist will need to know as much as possible about every single individual. Our government is currently building a mega-data-base on not only all of its citizens, but all of the people of the world. You’ve never heard of XKeyscore, but it definitely knows you.

The National Security Agency’s top-secret program essentially makes available everything you’ve ever done on the Internet─browsing history, searches, content of your emails, online chats, even your metadata─all at the tap of the keyboard. …XKeyscore is its “widest reaching” system for developing intelligence from the Internet.

PowerPoint training materials obtained by the Guardian show how analysts could use the system to mine sprawling agency databases consisting of a vast reservoir of data. At least 41 billion records were collected and stored in a single 30-day period in 2012, according to the report, which also says XKeyscore collects more than 20 terabytes of information daily, including emails, chats, social media interactions, and even browsing histories-all in real-time.

The world is furious at us after learning of the extent of our spying on them from the Edward Snowden leaks regarding our mass surveillance programs. Germany canceled a decades long agreement with us to share vital intelligence information. Recently released documents by Edward Snowden reveal our president lied about our government spying on its citizens.

The National Security Agency has broken privacy rules or overstepped its legal authority thousands of times each year since Congress granted the agency broad new powers in 2008. The government’s challenge to us through all of this has been that if we are not doing anything wrong we have nothing to hide and, therefore, no reason to object.

If we want to know where we are on God’s end-time timeline we need to look at what is going on in Israel. The European Union has redrawn Israel’s borders to the pre-1967 lines and has issued a directive barring all transactions with areas outside those borders. The UN has declared Israel to be an “occupier.”

The new ruler of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, appears to be as rabidly fanatical about the destruction of Israel as the former leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. As I mentioned a few moment ago, Secretary of State Kerry has declared, “The United States of America views all of the settlements as illegal. That is the policy of the United States.”

We have touched the “apple of God’s eye” in a way that has surely made God very, very angry with us. Our own Supreme Court has struck down a law allowing Americans born in Jerusalem to list Israel on their passport as their place of birth.

We have also publicly stated that the U.S. guarantees that Israel’s pre-1967 borders will be the basis for renewed peace talks with the Palestinians. Israel is very angry with the U.S. for revealing to the world that Israel used its submarines to launch cruise missiles that destroyed Russian made anti-aircraft missiles being delivered to the Syrians for use against Israel.

Obama has leaked this information to the world knowing full well that it invites retaliation against Israel, thus putting Israel in real danger. The Temple Mount is routinely being closed off to all Jews to appease Muslims who threaten to riot.

Jews were banned from Temple Mount for most of the month of Ramadan.

What I find most frightening of all are the remarks by Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister, which seem to indicate that Prime Minister Netanyhu is willing to relinquish up to 86 percent of the West Bank in a land-for-peace deal that has no possibility of ever succeeding, and every possibility of angering God.

The black horse of the Apocalypse looms just over the horizon as world hunger increases. President Obama just signed an order banning ammonium nitrate fertilizers in the United States. This will produce a very severe negative impact on the food grown on our nation’s farmlands.

Many parts of the world continue to ban genetically engineered crops. France has just announced that it will continue its ban on genetically modified corn. The war in Syria has destroyed half of their wheat crop. Freakish weather has destroyed a significant portion of the current world’s food supply.

The Bible tells us that there will be an increase in disease and pestilence in the last days. Anthrax is spreading over the northern region of Tajikistan. A plague-infected squirrel has been found in a California campground. Honduras has declared an emergency over dengue fever.

Hog producers are battling a virus that has killed piglets by the thousands and has a mortality rate of up to 100 percent. China’s bird flu has now started passing from human to human. There is a new mystery virus in the Middle East that is linked to camels.

A boy in Florida has recently been infected with a brain-eating amoeba. The east coast of the United States is being overrun with a plague of cicadas. Billions of locust eggs are hatching in the Negev desert.

Israel was hit by a plague of locusts just before Passover (That just has to be prophetic somehow!), and the capital of Bosnia has been hit by a plague of flies. One-third of the world’s food is destroyed by pestilence.

Advances in technology also point to our being in a time that closely parallels the “Days of Noah,” when the gene pool of mankind and the earth was polluted by angels who rebelled against God and caused God to be so angry that He destroyed the world with a flood. We have hacked our way past the firewalls of God’s computer and have gained access to the secrets of DNA that contain the codes of life.

Foolishly, we have tampered with these codes producing human-animal hybrids created in laboratories all over the planet. Scientists have just announced their most recent accomplishments of implanting false memories in mice and producing rabbits that glow in the dark. Human genes have been implanted in many different animals. One does not need the gift of prophecy to know that God is not going to tolerate this flagrant disobedience much longer.

Jesus told us that the Great Tribulation would start at the 3.5 year-point of Daniel’s 70th “week” when the Antichrist stands in the Temple and declares himself, to be god.   Therefore, there will have to be temple for him to stand in. The discussions on rebuilding the Temple are starting to get serious despite severe Islamic objections. The Israeli government is now funding the Temple Mount Institute and other organizations in their efforts to someday very soon rebuild the Temple.

I firmly believe that UFOs will play a significant role in end-time events and that sinister supernatural forces have at been at work ever since the incident at Roswell in 1947, and even back to the earliest days of civilization, to plant the seeds in the mind of mankind that are necessary to carry out their evil plan.

There has been a huge up-tick in recent UFO sightings and in cattle mutilations, where parts of the cattle are removed with the surgical precision we are scarcely able to duplicate today. The beings that perform these mutilations go to great lengths to insure they are never seen, and yet they deliberately leave the carcasses in places where they are certain to be found. Why?

There are other miscellaneous signs at we are at the end. Water has turned blood red in 9 waterways around the world during the past 2 years. Massive sinkholes continue to appear all over the world. The latest one opened up a hole 200 feet wide and 90 feet deep for no apparent reason, and it continues to expand.

Why are these sinkholes gobbling up cars, homes, and people? Is the earth angry with us, or is it trying to tell us something?

In Revelation 3:3 Jesus commanded us to watch for His return. He also warned us that if we do not watch He will come upon us as unexpectedly as a thief in the night and if we do not watch, we will not know the day or hour of His return.

Paul told the Thessalonians in his first letter to them to watch for the Lord’s return in the clouds, when the dead in Christ will rise first when the trumpet blows.

The bulk of chapter 24 of the book of Matthew deals with Jesus answer when asked what the signs of his return will be. Chapter 25 contains the parable of the 10 virgins and the importance of watching and being prepared for His return.

Over the centuries there has been much debate as to whether or not we can know the day or hour, but we can certainly know the season. We have that on the highest authority.

Never before in history has there been such an incredible number of signs that something big is about to happen, especially when all of these signs are occurring simultaneously. Many in the unbelieving world react with anger whenever the Rapture is mentioned because it is becoming increasingly impossible to deny.

All of humanity can sense it. Something really, really big is about to happen and it is going to happen really, really soon. Stockpiling water, food, medicine, and ammunition is not the answer.

The answer lays in your own heart and where you stand with God.
